OPTIT joins SMILE project
Optit is supporting ITL Foundation (Institut on Transport and Logistic) on activities of the SMILE project (Smart green innovative urban logistics for energy efficient Mediterranean cities), co-funded by the MED Programme, which aims at supporting and developing innovative strategies, plans and measures on energy efficient city logistics solutions in Mediterranean cities, using existing technologies and previous experiences as well as on-ongoing initiatives. Optit is going to develop a pilot in Bologna to test an operative framework for the optimised planning of waste collection management, comprising both process management and a software application, to
- gain efficiency in operations;
- improve waste collection transport management in urban areas, reducing energy consumption and lowering impacts on the environment;
- ensure the repeatability in different urban contexts.
